Real Highland Map
March 14, 2001
Roka
This map is abundant with resources! There are large gold and stone deposits near the town centers and smaller ones located throughout the map. Food is also plentiful. Deer, turkey, sheep, boar, shore fish, and deep-sea fish abound. Trees are clumped in typical Ensemble fashion (you can't move through them) but when combined with elevated terrain and rivers make defensive walling difficult. The maze like format, combined with large open spaces and tons of resources, makes this a challenging map to play!

New Map from MFO: Woogyland
January 19, 2001
Jalapeno
The landscape is an arid land dotted with pine clumps. The land is broken by cliffs and rolling hills. In the middle of the map, a small lake is teeming with fish and next to it, a forest is the home of numerous deer herds. The map has standard food resources: 8 sheep/turkeys, 2 boars, 1 berry patch, also expect a large deer herd. The map is so inviting to the popular strategies: flush, fast castle, booming.

Ensemble Studios New Map: Pilgrams
November 30, 2000
Jalapeno
You start on your own island. Your allies and enemies are on similar islands, all very near you. You get your normal starting number of villagers, plus a transport and no scout. On your island, you can expect to find no wolves, perhaps two sheep, about a half dozen "straggler" trees. You can also expect a single rock and single hunk of gold for mining, both inconveniently located. Your primary food source is the shore fish that ring your island.
Somewhere on the other side of the map is a huge continent, with wolves, turkeys, deer and boars, and many resources. Your starting island's meager resources are barely enough to get you started, so transporting to the new world is going to have to happen early.

Ensemble Studios New Map: Graveyards
October 31, 2000
Jalapeno
This new map features a timely Halloween theme. "Graveyards" is packed with scary trees, abandoned buildings and weed-choked graveyards concealing ancient relics. There are a lot of resources to be found among those headstones, and the gold from all those Relics can really turn a game around.
